To understand our responsibility we must compare the capability of non-human animals in proportion with skillset. Getting food and perpetuating the population are p much the only responsibilities of a domesticated cat, if that, with a consistent caretaker and despite him. 

They do well.

Maintaining oneself within a social system & economic structure is far too complex, and many of us manage it less well than the cat who finds food and hopefully a fuck.
